CROCK METER (RUBBING FASTNESS TESTER)


          Crock meter to determine the color fastness of dyed or printed textiles material. This test is used for the checking of color fastness against rubbing.

   
          Machine used for evaluation of fastness to rubbing is known as crock-meter. It is made of stainless steel and operated manually as well as automatically. It consist handle, rubbing finger, flat platform and controlling unit. It produce rubbing fastness result quickly and accurate manner.


       Diameter of rubbing finger :                   16 mm and 25 mm
       Force on finger :                                      9 N and 20 N
       Size of crocking cloth(white fabric) :      (5 x 5) cm and (7 x 7) cm
       Size of test sample(dyed sample) :          14 x 5 cm
       Length of traverse  :                                 10 cm

        WORKING OF MACHINE :


           First cut out dyed and white sample strips as per specifications and than prepare instrument for fastness test. Strip of dyed sample is properly placed on to bottom plate on to crock-meter and fix with the help of pins. Mounted white fabric over rubbing finger with the help of rubber band properly. Then rubbing finger put on one and of bottom plate (sample holder) and then rubbing process with perform. If dry rubbing fastness is consider then take white fabric in dry condition. But when wet rubbing fastness is consider then take white fabric in wet condition.
