TEXTILE

QUANTITATIVE  BLEND  FABRIC ANALYSIS

            There are different types of fibers ex natural fibers (cotton,wool,jute), synthetic fibers (polyester,acrylic,CDPET) and reagent fibers (viscose) all this fibers does not have all excellent properties. i.e each fiber have some good properties (Advantages) and some have bad properties (Disadvantages) properties.

            For e.x polyester have advantageous properties like highly strength and good durability, abrasion resistance, crease resistance, good tear strength, good aesthetic value.

            And disadvantages properties like pilling formation, static charge, low moisture regain non comfortable material.
          Similarly cotton has some advantageous properties like high moisture regain, comfortable, low static charge, less pilling properties, smoothness or softness.
          And disadvantageous properties of cotton like low strength, wrinkle, low tear strength, low aesthetic value.

          From above properties if both the fibers, we get excellent fibers when we blend both of them.

         For quantitative analysis of blend, one component of blend it dissolve in suitable solvents and proportion of both the fibers can be identify.

         By following formula can be calculated quantitative blend fabric analysis

                                 P = F X d
                                       --------
                                           W
                Where, P = Percentage of residual fabric in the blend
                             F = Oven dried weight of residual fabric fabric in gm
                             d = Correction factor for loss of fabric due to effect of acid.
                             W = Oven dried weight of blend in gm

 Percentage of fabric = 100 - Percentage of residual fabric

                                               -------------------%
